Welcome to our website!

The Bronte Park General Store has been operating in Bronte Park since the 1950s. We are situated in the Central Highlands of Tasmania and approximately 2 hours drive from Hobart, Devonport and Launceston. We are located 4 kilometers of the Lyell Highway which connects Hobart and with Queenstown and Strahan on the West Coast of Tasmania. Some history of Bronte Park can be found <here>.
Our store is centred in one of the best renowned wild trout fisheries in the Southern Hemisphere where we are fortunate to have one of the purest and disease free strains of wild brown trout found in the world!
From our store to the scenic Lake St. Clair National Park is a 25 minute drive. Lake St. Clair offers many walking tracks with great bushwalking for daytrippers and hikers alike. Lake St. Clair is the end of the famous 65 kilometer long Overland Track.
Chances are that by now you already know where we are, but just in case you lost your bearings:

Some people come to Bronte Park as they pass on the Tasmania Trail, the 480+ kilometer cross Tasmania trail for walkers, horses and bicycle riders
The Bronte Park Highland Village is the largest accomodation complex in the area, and we are located directly across the road from it. In case you are not staying there you are probably staying a kilometer up the road at the 4 star Highland Cabins and Cottages.
